Classes for Parents

Parents and caregivers play a crucial role in children’s safety. Learning to communicate effectively under stress gives parents the tools to speak up when they are concerned about children’s safety. Parents can also keep lines of communication open so that children feel comfortable reporting unsafe situations.

In this 4-hour class, sometimes taught concurrently with KidSafe and Middle School, parents learn:

  • How to talk to another adult who is disrespecting a child’s boundaries.
  • Challenging potentially abusive behavior
  • Staying calm and focused when kids report unsafe situations.
  • Boundaries vs. rules: respecting children’s boundaries while maintaining parental authority
